Dr. Giulio Maria Pasinetti is the Saunders Family Chair and Professor of Neurology, Psychiatry, Neuroscience, Geriatrics, and Adult Development at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Pasinetti is also the Program Director of the NIH funded P50 Center on Molecular Integrative Neuroresilience focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms and pathophysiology that may be at the basis of stress-induced mood disorders, including anxiety, depression, and other neuropsychiatric disorders, and their influence on cognitive dysfunction. Dr. Pasinetti is the recipient of several academic awards, including the prestigious Zenith and Temple awards from the Alzheimer’s Association, the Nathan W. and Margaret T. Shock Aging Research Foundation Award of the Gerontological Society of America, and the Foundation Queen Sofia of Spain Research Center Award on Alzheimer’s Disease. Most recently, Dr. Pasinetti received The Faculty Council Award for academic excellence at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and The Charles Dana Alliance for Brain Research Award from the Dana Foundation, recognizing productivity and worldwide leadership in his field of expertise. Dr. Pasinetti is the recipient of more than 30 NIH federal, industry and non-profit organization research grants and has published over 300 groundbreaking manuscripts.

Dr. Shapiro has been involved in sleep research for over forty years. He trained in science and medicine in South Africa subsequently did his PhD in sleep physiology at the University of Edinburgh with Ian Oswald. He did his psychiatry training in Edinburgh and then had a senior lectureship at Edinburgh University before moving to Canada approximately twenty five years ago as a Full Professor in the Department of Psychiatry. He was Director of the Neuropsychiatry Program at the Toronto Western Hospital and Editor of the Journal of Psychosomatic Research both for close to two decades. He has over 300 refereed publications in this field and two dozen books and booklets including a book on “Forensic aspects of sleep”, and several books for the lay public. He also authored a children’s book “Who needs to sleep anyway” and most recently co-authored a book “STOP THAT and 100 Other Sleep Scales”. His “ABC of sleep medicine” through the BMJ was considered the first book for family physicians on sleep. He has a further 560 publications (chapters, editorials, letters etc) and has supervised over 50 fellows and postgraduate students. One of his interests is sleep changes in psychiatric disease and the extent to which sleep markers are helpful in psychiatry. He founded the British Sleep Society in 1989. In 1998 he founded the International Neuropsychiatric Association. When a resident in Scotland, he set up the first sleep laboratory in Africa and nine years ago he opened the first independent Child and Adolescent Sleep Clinic in Canada.

Moshe Lewis graduated from Mount Sinai Medical School in New York and fulfilled a residency training program in physical medicine and rehabilitation, at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston where he served as chief resident. Moreover, he is a volunteer clinical faculty member at the University of California, San Francisco, and the Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He currently serves as the Founder and CEO of the Golden Gate Institute For Integrative Medicine (GGIIM). He also coauthored a revolutionary new comprehensive, evidence-based book titled Understanding Pain: An Introduction for Patients and Caregivers (Rowman & Littlefield, 2015).

Rita Stuckey completed her Bachelors in Nursing from California State University, Los Angeles, Masters in Public Administration from California University, East Bay, Masters in Education from Mills College, and Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Mills College. She has served as the Director of nursing, care management, care coordination, and utilization management in acute, long-term acute, skilled nursing, home health, hospice, psychiatric, and public health care organizations. Dr. Stuckey served on the Board of Governors at Mills College; and is the first African American nurse to earn a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Mills. She is the founder of the Care Advocate Program, an author and educator.

Stephen Gethin-Jones has completed his Doctorate at the Unviersity of Cardiif in 2012 with a focus on homecare delivery to older housebound adults and he had continued to develop a specialist interest in home care and support services for older adults,with a particular focus on outcome focused care. He also has been involved in the development of services for community care in both the statutory and private sectors. He currently teach on a variety of health and social care degrees at both undergraduate and post graduate level.

Gina M. D’Angelo is a registered nurse serving seniors for more than two decades. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Wheeling Jesuit University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Johns Hopkins University Carey School of Business. She is President of GD Solutions, LLC, serving as an industry and legal nurse consultant in the USA, involved in risk management services for clients from senior living and nursing home settings. She has written several continuing education (CE) courses and articles for industry trade associations and publications.

Dr Sylvia L.F. Pender is Associate Professor Reader in Mucosal Immunology, within Medicine at the University of Southampton. She is currently the Adjunct Associate Professor at International Medical University in Malaysia. She was a VC award winner in 2010 for promoting internationalization in the University. She is also a Global Partnership Award winner in 2013 for enhancing international research collaboration and partnership in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. She completed her BSc.(Hons), Biochemical Sciences at University of Keele 1992 and PhD, University of London 1996 (with an Overseas Research Scholarship award). She is a Research Fellow at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of London (1995). She acts as Non-clinical Lecturer, University of Southampton (2000). Dr Sylvia L.F. Pender is a Senior Lecturer at University of Southampton during 2005.

Eef Hogervorst did her degree in Health Sciences and a PhD in the Department of Psychiatry and Neuropsychology at Maastricht University, specialising in cognitive aging. She subsequently worked as a researcher at the University of Oxford; as Research Associate Professor at the UAMS (Department of Geriatrics, ranked 8th in the USA) and as Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge (Department of Psychiatry) before taking up a Chair as Professor of Biological Psychology at Loughborough University (ranked 5th in the UK) in 2005. She is also a visiting Professor at UCL (pending) and 3 Universities in Indonesia. Eef specialises in the early diagnoses of dementia using cognitive screening instruments and investigates risk and protective lifestyle factors for dementia in the UK, USA, Indonesia and Shanghai China. Eef has published over 200 peer-reviewed international journal papers and book chapters and is regularly invited worldwide to give public and keynote scientific lectures about her work. She chaired symposia for IMS in Mexico, Neuroendocrinology in Turin and Dementia in Toronto in 2014/2015 and is on the organising committee for the Alzheimer's disease conference in London 2016. She won several prizes for her work (PNEC, Blasschko etc.). With her collaborators, >£13M funding was obtained for research from various bodies (MRC, AST, ARUK, NDA, ESRC/NIHR etc) and Eef is now involved in two European multi-million studies investigating nutrition and exercise to prevent dementia. Eef is on the editorial board of the Journal of Alzheimer's disease (US based) and Journal of Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's and advises on dementia conferences.

Catharina Gillsjö, PhD, FNP, RN earned her PhD in a Joint PhD Program in Nursing between University of Rhode Island, USA and University of Skövde, Sweden. The focus of her research is on the health and well-being of older adults in various contexts,especially that of home. It also encompasses common health problems associated with aging, such as long-term musculoskeletal pain. Furthermore, it includes interventions that support older adults in daily living and their ability to remain at home. Catharina is a senior lecturer at the University of Skövde. She is interested in national and international collaboration in research and education.

Dr. Lou Vivian W. Q. is the Director of Sau Po Centre on Ageing at The University of Hong Kong. She is also an Associate Professor at Department of Social Work & Social Administration. She is now teaching social gerontology, clinical gerontology, care management, and human development for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Her research interests focus on family gerontology, in particular family caregiving for frail older adults and grandchildren, intergenerational support, social adaptation and mental health of Chinese older adult. She also has a keen interest in practice research on building evidence-based models that contribute to the enhancement of psycho-spiritual well-being of Chinese older adults. She had publications in journals such as Journal of Gerontology: Social Sciences, The Gerontologist, Age and Aging, Aging and Mental Health, and Social Indicators Research. Dr. Lou is presently a member of Elderly Commission of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, a fellow of Gerontology Society of America, and a council member of Hong Kong Association of Gerontology.

Samia A. Abdul-Rahman is an academic researcher and reviewer with many published international articles and ongoing projects in the field of Aging and Dementia. She is one of the expert members of the Mediterranean Alzheimer Alliance since 2013. She started working at the Geriatrics and Gerontology department, Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University in Egypt in 2001 and advanced through the ranks to become an associate professor in 2014. She helped put the curricula for both under- and post-graduate degrees of the department. She is a founding member of the Egyptian Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology and the manager of the community services committee of the Society since 2014.

Prof. Stefan Krajcik is currently the Head of 46 bed teaching geriatric department of Slovak Medical University. He did his PhD in Internal Medicine and serves as Faculty of Medicine at Comenius University, Bratislava. Stefan Krajcik was a Prof. of Social Work at Trnava University (Slovakia) in 2001. Associate Prof of Internal Medicine at Slovak Medical University in 2010. He completed his Graduation in 1974 and serves as Faculty of Medicine at Comenius University, Bratislava, Slovakia. Stefan has completed Internal Medicine specialisation in 1978 and 1983 along with Geriatric Medicine qualification in 1987. He also made some Courses and stays like WHO course on social gerontology at Dubrovnik in 1987 ,Geriatric Centre Berlin-Buch in 1990, 2 week stay at Geriatric department at Catholic University, Montgodine, Belgium in 1993, 5 week course Impact of population ageing on health care provision London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 1991, a week stay at Geriatric Research Unit at Mc Master University, Canada in 2000. He has made 231 Publications (9 monographies). Prof. Stefan Krajcik also serves as Vice-President of Slovak Gerontological and Geriatric Society, Consultant of Slovak Health Ministry for geriatrics. Prof. Stefan Krajcik was born on April 22, 1950.
