Biography
Gyula Bakó was originally an internist and endocrinolgist. Since 2002 specialized as geriatritian. He became the Head of the Division of Geriatric Medicine of Department of Internal Medicine of Debrecen University, Hungary. He was sent as reprezentative of Hungarian Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics to EUMS GMS (now UMS GMS). He was taking part in the work of the preparation of “European undergraduate curriculum in geriatric medicine developed using an international modified Delphi technique Age And Ageing 43: pp. 1-8. (2014)†and “New horizons in geriatric medicine education and training: The need for pan-European education and training standards (2017)â€. He was a member of Editorial Board of the Archives of Gerontology and Geriatrics until 2015, and is the member of Editorial Board of Hungarian Geriatrics (Magyar Geriátria). He is the vice president of Hungarian Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics and the president of Medical Advisory Board of the Ministry of Human Resources in Geriatric Medicine and Long Term Care. His main field is pharmacoterapy of elderly people.
